The VML crew lose a heartbreaker in double OT to the Penguins.
The ole hockey gods just weren't with the crew last night as they couldn't buy the game winning goal. Congratulations and best of luck to the Penguins who move in the Fox division. They will have to carry the flag for Hants county now. League report here.
The VML executive would like to thank all our supporters for the year which was still a success finishing in first in the Fox dvision and having a 14 game win streak. I'm sure everyone was hoping for a better result but it just wasn't meant to be. As they say third time is trying time...or is that crying time....we'll go with trying which means next year is the year. Not bad though two years in the league and made the playoff both years.
The sad part is saying good bye to our over agers who end their Junior hockey career. We basically had six overagers we used this year: Adriano (Boo) Digioachino, Brady (Fish) Fisher, Joe (Ketchup) Hines, Joe (Nails) MacDougall, Luke(Shorty) Short and Mitch (Good Golley) Culley, with Hines, MacDougall, Short and Culley playing since the Jan 10 deadline. These young men will all have good futures with whatever they do as they all have good work ethic. All the best to the OA VML crew in your future endeavours and thanks for wearing the VML blue.
