The Mariners battled the VML crew right to the end with local boy Michael Dill picking up the game winner on the last regular season 'Hump Day'.
Yep ole 'Five hole' Cap 'n' Andy the 'Beaver's' number is in the books which also puts the crew solidly in first place. It looks like the crew will be facing the Penguins in the first round now. But first there is one more regular season duck hunt at the pond on Saturday night with Gillis's number on the line.
Hump day saw a few call up AP's in Dryden 'Duster' Schofield, Michael Dill, Matthew Lyttle and Tyler Young all helping out with the 'W'. Dill the sixth shoot out shooter got the win. Hmmmm I wonder if the boys wanted to last a little longer cause it was hump day?
Anyways it was a good night with VML 50/50 along with the generosity of winner, Mr. Doherty raising $200 to help fund Maggy Burbidge's trip to Findland. Go Maggy and do the Valley proud.
Ole Alex 'Palmolive' Feltmate has potential in the constuction industry as he sure likes the 'hard hat' with the crew electing that he hang on to it for another game. 'Palmolive' picked up the two goals in regulation and the first goal in the shootout. Mitchell 'Newf' Normore chipped in on both goals and 'Cheerios' Hunson also with an assist.
Yep the crew came through on hump day, me not so much as it was Thursday by the time I got home.
Next up: Colin 'Willis' Gillis' number at the pond
