Hump Day Valley 7 Ducks 6
2014-01-30The Valley crew come up with a big BIG character win last night. Yep Hump Day is a good day to come
back, yep the crew came back from a 4-0 deficit to get the win in OT. The VML crew must have had their minds on other things...being Hump Day and all or they were used to normally doing chores in at the 'Barn' on Wednesday as they just weren't with it in the first period. In fact each period was like watching three different teams. First period they were more like peewee players (I think I heard that somewhere). They upgraded to bantam/midget for the second and finally had 'er' wound up in the third scoring four goals, alot like the old cold blooded Chevy's, takes a while to get them warmed up then you're good to go. They were thirty minutes into the game before they got the first goal. Something like school projects ...put it off to the last minute then go like heck.

That was definitely a big character win to come back the way they did even in the third when they had it to within at 5-4 and the Ducks made it 6-4 they kept digging and tied it up on goal by Cheerios with 1:16 remaing. At that point I think everyone would have been happy with the point but they did one better coming home with the win.
Way to go.
Rip's 'nod' goes to the whole team for the never give up 'come back' Honoarable mentions to Swainer with the bookends, the goal to get them started and the OT winner. I also liked goalie Joe Hines stretch pass to Gillis for the second goal unfortunately he was'nt credited with the point.
Next up: Battle 101
