The Valley crew get the win in a shootout in Brookfield on Tuesday night.
Yep it took more than one bullit to bring the big game down. Ole 'Swainer' from Normore and Captain Andy had the only goal of the game for the VML squad at 13:05 of the second period. The Elks tied it up in the third sending it to OT then a shootout. I gotta tell ya these close games are hard on the ticker and don't do the 'slippers' much good either. Fortunately the crew came away with the win with Liam 'Cavvy with a C' Cavanagh picking up 'The Hat" for his performance between the pipes turning away 31 of 32 shots then stopping all three in the shootout. It was Alex 'Palmolive' Feltmate with the SO winner.
A little shoutout to the crew for staying outta the box with only three penalties on the night and none in the third. Maybe it was the refs that really deserve the 'nod' here as it was one of the better reff'd games I've seen.
Well the boys get to do 'er' all over again this Friday night as the Elks are in the Barn. Hopefully the crew have their guns cleaned and can fire a few more bullits.
Rip's 'nod' goes to 'Cavvy' with a C for getting 'The Hat' for his performance between the pipes with honourable mentions to 'Swainer' and 'Palmolive' with the goals and a little shoutout to the refs for keeping the game flowing.
