The VML crew picked up the first ever OT win for The Valley Maple Leafs with a 5-4 win over the Pens.
Bare with me this update brought to you from beautiful downtown North Rustico....and it's late
The crew were a little off getting started with 'Haysee' or I'm pretty sure it was Haysee(GSheet has Anderson) netting the 1st to tie the game with 32 secs on the clock in the 1st period with a helper from Squires. It was 'Swainer' from Gillis and Schofield with 39 secs on the clock in the 2nd only to have the Pens score again to take a 4-2 lead into the third. Then the crew woke up and put the pressure on Gillis from Felmate and Swainer ath 15:10 to bring them within one. Then it was ole Haysee finding net again from Squires with 3:52 to tie it up. Those last 4 mins were hard on the ole 'Ticker'. Luckily it was only 43 seconds into OT when Alex 'Palmolive' Feltmate' put 'er' away on a nice feed from "Willis' er I mean Colin Gillis.
Congrats to David Hayes who got the "HAT" for those of you that don't know the "HAT" is a hard hat the crew gives to their player of the game. Usually whoever got it the last game gives it out the next, with a little help in the selection from the rest of the crew. Yep it's always nice to see someone leave with the HAT as it's only given out after a win.
Rip's 'nod' is split between Haysee with the HAT and 'Palmolive' for netting the crew their first OT winner. Honourable mentions to 'Willis' with a three point night and the AP's Michael Dill and Mitchell Singer in their first Junior B game.
