Road win Valley 4 Blues 0
2013-09-28
The first trip in the white bus gets the crew a win in Springhill in the Blues home opener.
I would say it was pretty good first trip to take on the other dvision with a solid team effort. The crew although a little short staffed played well together both on offense and defense. They even tried out the penalty box( a little less of that for future).
"Palmolive" you know good hands Alex Feltmate got the crew on the board first on a luvly feed from last years "Rook" Colin Gillis at 16:24 of the first. Under a minute latter it was "Tires" Andrew Squires who had the ice radials on last night, set up by Matt Viney and Kyle "Kavie" Kavanagh. With 1:12 remaining in the first it was "Palmolive"(maybe "Gloves") again set up by ole David "Haysee" Hayes. It took til the 7:16 mark of the second before "Tires" put up his second of the night putting one top shelf on a another luvly goal set up by Colin "Much" Moore.
Ya gotta give a shout out to the Dmen with the boys keeping the shot clock down and Mitch Culley with the first "Ohh" of the season. New guy Dryden "Duster" Scofield had a good night with Craig "Beaver" Anderson making some big plays to eliminate a couple of break aways.
Yep I thought the whole crew played well.
Rip's 'nod' or in this case 'nods' goes to "Tires" and "Palmolive" both with two goal nights and pretty ones at that. with honourable mention to the DMEN and Culley between the pipes.
Next up the the Glace Bay Jr Miners come to apple country on Sunday for the first game in Berwick this year.
