The crew lose a game of Horshoes errr I mean Hockey, Monday in game three against the Blazers.
The crew need to pick 'er' up a little if they look to extend their playoff run. Even in Horseshoes you have to throw the horshoe in order to get a ringer. Perhaps hand grenades would be better to shake things up a little. Yep it looked more like they were slow dancing last night. OK enough of that close stuff boys it's time to get back to hockey.
League report "Lower Sackville, NS. February 25, 2013. The third game, of the Fred Fox Series A semi-final, resumed in Lower Sackville Monday night with the Sackville Blazers skating to a 3-1 win over the Valley Maple Leafs to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven.
The teams played a scoreless, scrambly opening twenty minutes before about 350 fans.
Shots in the period favoured the Maple Leafs at 12-6.
In the second the Blazers picked up the only goal of the period when Matt Arthur converted, on the power play, with younger brother Brett.
Shots in the period favoured the Blazers 9-5 but the Leafs held a slim 17-15 advantage after 40 minutes.
In the third Jake Galbraith, on the power play, had the teams deadlocked at one. Luke Short and Brandon Parker picked up the assists. Four minutes later Jordan Keizer managed to poke home a loose puck, on the power play, to get the Blazers up by one at 2-1 from Brett Arthur. Then with just 16.2 seconds left in the game Brett Arthur picked up his 2nd goal of the night, and 3rd point, an open net goal to cement the win for the Blazers."
Rip's 'nod' goes to Mader who did what he had to do between the pipes with honourable mention to 'Shorty' for shooting and 'Sport' with the redirect for the lone goal.
Time to get the lead out as they say.
