Valley 1 Elks 3

2013-01-12

The crew finished their final home game at Acadia.

Hopefully we don't have to play there again, the place must be jinxed.  Ahh! on the upside the boys were consistent.  The boys were close but we all know the deal on close,  there were a lot of near misses, dingers and leaners just not enough ringers.  In the words of the ole PLC "The best team doesn't always win".  Anyways here's a League report:

"At the Acadia University Arena in Wolfville the Brookfield Elks rebounded from an 8-2 thrashing, by the Valley Maple Leafs, Tuesday night in Brookfield with a 3-1 over the Valley Team.
Connor Baker, Geoff Burke and Drew McNutt all scored for the Elks who led 1-0 after one; tied 1-1 after two with the Elks potting a pair in the third.

Luke Short had the lone goal for the Maple Leafs.

Spencer Scott handled 37 of 38 shots to pick up his 13th win on the year. Olafr Schmidt faced 26 shots in a losing effort."

Ohh! and we know Anderson never got the "five hole" on the ice last night as only 'Shorty' found net.

Rip's 'nod' goes to 'Smiddy' who I thought played a pretty good game, honourble mention to Shorty for finding net,  which apparently is hard for a Leaf at Acadia.

Well here's hoping the boys get 'er' swung around for the ROAD TRIP off to Pictou on Sunday to take on the Scotians who have been hot of late.
