Valley 3 Ducks 1

She was a Barn Burner or maybe a Barn Dance as there was a fair bit of Dosey Doe in Kentville.
Yep the boys hounoured our vets with a little on ice war, a little in the stands as well. It was an scoreless game until the Ducks got on the board at 8:33 of the second. Swainer tied it up assited by Shorty at 11:53 and then it was time for some "Dosey Doe" with "Stretch" Seyforth dancing with Riley Hemstock. I'd say Stretch got the take down. Next up "Mumba" wanted to dance and got turned down(don't ya hate that), although a duck came off the bench that wanted too. The refs kept that part under control. Meanwhile there must have been a Duck call in the stands as another Duck decided to go right through the door and dance in the stands. Yep she was a Barn Dance. Heck even Culley was wanting in on the action by the end of the second as he picked up a couple mins for roughing.
The boys got back to hockey at 2:18 of the third on a rush that saw Sport and Swainer rush up the ice and Shorty playing catch up after picking up his stick ,whipping er to the other end and scoring on the set up from "Sport". At 7:59 the boys went up boys went up two goals when "Shorty" set Craig Anderson who sored a nice one.
It was good to see the Valley's #1 Hockey Mum, Judy Rideout who had a few hour pass from the hospital and headed straight for the rink. It was also good to see David Hayes in the stands cheering on the boys as well. Oh and I wasn't there.(wink wink). It was good two points although I'm expecting it be tough at the ole Duck pond next weekend.
Rip's "nod" goes to the man that got the hard hat for working his butt off and picking up three point in the process Luke "Shorty" Short. Honourble mentions to Culley for keeping the Ducks at one and Swainer for the goal and assist.
