Valley Maple Leafs 3 East Hants Penquins 2

2012-10-27

Ahhh, I was just messing with ya.  It was really quite an exciting game with a lot of end to end action.  The D men and Culley got the job done only allowing 26 six shots with two goals.  These games going right down to the wire like that are hard on Rip's ole ticker...keeps it in shape I guess.  It was a scoreless first period with the Pens getting on the board first with two goals early and mid way through the second.  "Himmer" got the first Maple marker with 1:10 left to go in the 2nd assisted by "Swainer" and "Double".  The boys then tied er up at 18:17 of the third on a luvly pass setup from Himmer to Swainer to Jake "Sport" Galbraith who wasted no time putting the rubber in.  The third period was stressful right down to the end, bitter end if you were a Pens fan with with 1 second left on the clock Collin "Rook" Gillis(blame Nuts for that handle) sniped a beautiful goal assisted by Nuts and Parker.  The crew outshot the Penguins 41-26 with the Pens goalie robbing the boys on a few occasions.  The game saw a little good ole fashioned "toe to toe dosey doe" with Alex "Stretch" Seyforth with the reach advantage fighting Alex Malay in the 2nd and "Boo" Digiacchino not concerned with the reach against Ryan Philip in the third.

Rip's "nod" goes to Jake Galbraith who put in a real solid effort last night.  With honourble mentions going to Himmer and Swainer with two point nights, D Men for a solid effort(go easy on the pinch) and last but not least to "Rook" the man that got the Hard Ha tfrom the boys and for saving Rip the stress of overtime.

Now it's time to dose some flames.  That's right the Sackville Blazers are in Kentville tonight to take on the Maple crew with first place on the line.  The ole Blazers have been on a bit of a roll lately and will be looking to take back first place.  I'm expecting this one to be a barn burner, so hopefully the boys didn't celebrate last night's redemption win too much and will be ready to go tonight.

Sooo grab luvy, buddy, friends and a bus load of other people and we'll see ya in Kentville tonight to cheer on the Valley boys.
