The Valley crew with the win over the Blue
2012-10-21The Valley Maple Leafs (VML fo you texters or is it txr's) get a 5-2 win over the visiting Cumberland County Blues.
The boys picked up the much needed two points with the win last night to stay in second place in the Fred Fox division. For those that are paying attention it's a pretty tight race in the ole Fox division with 4 points seperating 1st from 5th.
Anyways the boys had a pretty good game with newcomer Alex Seyforth getting a goal assisted by Squires and Gillis to get the Leafs on the board. Parker was next to get one, set up by "Nuts" and "Knuckles". Just a minute later the King pin "er" I mean Captain Little put one away assisted by 'Swainer" and "Sport". Two minutes into the second saw "Himmer" assisted by "Swainer" and "Sport" again to take a 4-0 lead. The Blues picked up couple goals to get it close then it was Parker, Nuts "n" Knuckles combining again to make the final score 5-2. Oh and welcome back to "Mumba" the man wearing the number 10 last night on defense. Anyone remember the "Mumba" trick?
Need a little nickername legend you say?
Parker = Parker
Nuts = Jory Uhlman
Knuckles = Josh Crouse
Swainer = Swainer er Mark Swain
Himmer = Austin Himmelman
Sport = Jake Galbraith
Mumba = Roland Provencal(it's Provensell not Provencall.)
The winner of the Octobefest 50/50 was .........ah just messing with you there was no winner yet as we had to put the draw date off until our next home game to ensure all tickets that were sold are in. So you still have a chance to win. We will be double checking this week to make sure all tickets are in and we will have the draw next Saturday night when the Sackville Blazers come to town.
Rip's nod goes to the man with the "Hat" Mitch Culley the man between the pipes. Honourble mentions to the boys with 2 point nights: Parker, Uhlman, Crouse, Swain and Galbraith.
Judy if your reading, get better. Judy Rideout the VML's secretary/this/that is in the Hospital and the boys would like to wish her a speedy recovery.
Next up ROAD TRIP from Kings County to Hants to take on the Pens in the Igloo.
