Good weekend for the crew
2012-10-09The boys picked up 3 points, a few thousand pounds of pumpkins and put a way a bunch of turkey.
The Valley Maple Leafs had a good weekend picking up enough points to keep them atop the Fred Fox division. Speaking of picking up I hear some of the crew were at the Annual Pumpkin Weigh off in Windsor on the weekend helping lift some little pumpkins.. I believe the new record there was a 1727 pound pumpkin grown by Gerard Asems of Steam Mill. If anyone has any pictures of the Boys there I would like a copy sent to jjdrippey@eastlink.ca.
My daughter and I were promoting the team on the Island with that nice plate on the front of the car. I also took in the home opener of the Holland Hurricane against the Kensington Vipers of the ISJHL at the Civic Ceter in C'town. I think we got them covered although it was both teams first game of the season.
After the weekend of turkey the boys best be doing their jumping jacks, situps, jogs, biking and practice as we don't want any turkey leg excuses when the Strait Pirates come to town on the weekend. They have a home winning streak to keep alive...Kentville home that is.
