The Leafs lost their fourth game of the season 6-3 at the Antigonish Arena Sunday Oct 28. It marked the third consecutive win for the Bulldogs over the Leafs in the past year and a half, unless you count the forfeiture win the Leafs were given after losing to the Bulldogs in the 17-18 season opener.
The teams played to a 2-2 draw after one period with Ethan Rendell-Watson scoring a shorthanded goal and a power-play goal, his 10th and 11th of the season, as well as his league leading fourth short-handed marker of the season. Meanwhile the Bulldogs added two power-play goals.
Antigonish went up 3-2 after forty minutes before the Bulldogs scored three consecutive goals in the third to grab a 6-2 lead. Branden Schofield tallied the third Maple Leafs goal and the final of the game late in the third.
The Bulldogs coming off a 9-3 shellacking in East Hants Friday Oct 26 outshot the Leafs 32-26. The Bulldogs and Leafs play once again Nov 16 in Windsor at 7:30 and the Leafs will be hungry to defeat the Bulldogs on the ice for the first time since 2016-2017.
Prior to Nov 16, the Leafs are at home to the Jr. Miners Nov 2 and then played three in a row on the road, Nov 4 in Pictou and Nov 10 and 11 in Membertou against the defending Atlantic Champions and in Eskasoni against the Jr. Eagles. The Leafs then play two huge games, at home, against the East Hants Penguins on Sun Nov 18 and Fri Nov 23. Between those games Valley will be on the road in Brookfield Tuesday, Nov 20.
