Yep it was Lucky Friday the 13th! Did I mention I like the number 13.
Yes sir it was a big night with both teams that needed a win for the VML crew to secure 2nd place coming back from 3-0 deficits. The Privateers came back to beat East Hants 5-3 helping the cause. More importantly the VML crew got four unanswered goals in the third to take the win over the Colt 6-4 after being down 3-0 after the first.
At the end of the first ole number 13 Mitch 'the Newf' Normore got the crew fired up with a little 'Toe to Toe Dosey Doe' take down. That got the crew partially ingear for the second going into the third down 4-2. In the third the boys got 4 unanswered goals for the win with Colin 'Willis' Gillis putting up the insurance marker with none other than his 13th goal of the season. Yep like the number 13.
Kyle 'Last Name' Ritchie picked up the 'Hard Hat' for his efforts and 2 goals on the night. Alex 'Palmolive' Feltmate added a couple and rounding out the scoring was Connor 'OhhBee' O'Brien on a nice set up from Cody Burghardt and 'Willis' with his 13th. Chipping in with helpers were Hayes, Kavanagh, Gillis and Young with two and Brison and Burghardt with singles.
Rip's 'nod' goes to the old guys, overagers Colin 'Willis' Gillis, David 'Haysee' Hayes, Kyle 'Thumper' Kavanagh and Brandon 'Spidey' Parker in their last regular season home game. Honourable mentions to 'the Newf' for getting them fired up and to the number '13'
