Valley 3 Pens 2
2014-11-15The crew come away with another 'W' in the win column.
It was a pretty good game with the crew needing OT to win it. The Pens tied it up with just over a minute in regulation. Did I mention those one goal games and especially OT are hard on the old ticker. Kyle 'Just' Ritchie put the crew on the board first with a luvley unassisted short handed goal. It was Normore late ion the second putting the crew back up 2-1 assisted by Hayes and 'Just' Ritchie again. It was ole Greg 'Downtown' Browine who got the "Hard Hat' with the OT winner assisted by Colin 'Chester' Gillis and Graeme MacKinley. Yep not a bad game considering some of the crew had skate problems.
With the win the crew give themselves a little, little cushion over the Pens for first place and still only have one in the 'L" column. Now the crew are gonna have to do the same next week with a big Game in Sackville on Monday and back in the Barn for the Privateers on Friday. They better have the skates sharpened for that run.
Rip's 'nod' again goes to 'Smiddy' who kept them in it especially when the crew were getting a little extra rest in that other box in the second. Honourable mentions to none other than "Downtown' Brown with the OT winner and 'Just' Ritchie with the 2 point night.
