Valley 4 Pirates 2

The VML crew pick up their second 'W' of the weekend with a 4-2 win over the Strait Pirates.
I only caught the third period as I was watching Dale Junior beat Jeff Gordon for the Grand father clock. Too bad Gordon fans....
Anyways according to my 'Fan in the Stands' Old Man "Felts', the 'Eveready' Colin 'Willis' Gillis was the star of the game with an unassisted goal at the end of a penalty kill and another short handed goal. Ole 'Willis' was a goal post 'Ting!!!!!" away from a Hat trick he did however pick up the 'Hard Hat' for his efforts. A Hat trick doesn't always mean a win but a 'Hard Hat' does. Yep
Looking at the game sheet it also looked like the MacKinley bro's Colin and Graeme were in it as well both in the box and on the board each picking up a couple of points with Colin getting a nice insurance goal from the point late in the third..
Rounding out the scoring were: Peter 'Lestoil' Lister with a goal, 'Cheerios' Hunson with a couple helpers and 'Spidey' Parker with a helper and an old school toe save....back when tendies used to do the splits and not the butterfly. I bet he won't be in a hurray to try that again unless he has goalie skates on.

Rip's 'nod' goes to the team effort putting up another 'W' with honourable mentions to 'Smiddy' with another solid effort between the pipes and to 'Spidey' Parkey with the cool toe save on the penalty kill.
